Happy end of Week 4!!
Y'all, there is always so much going on at Lee! Clubs started this week, kids are figuring out their new routines and Room Reps have started posting, our first Roadie Workday is upon us & next week is the FIRST PTA Meeting on 9/20!!
For those of you asking, I have "About Me" forms for most teachers (not all) but I have not loaded them on the staff page yet because it's been a busy week. If you need it, your Room Reps have access to all the About Me forms that I have so far.
Roadrunner Rally
Is at about the halfway point and we're inching toward our goal. Please help maintain the momentum and donate today. Share the donate link with your friends and family, every single contribution helps support students and teachers at Lee. DONATE HERE
Roadie Work Day
September 14 | 9-12
Looking for a 1-day volunteer commitment? Roadie Workday is coming up on September 14th from 9-12.
Come and go as you can! Volunteers will be all over campus finishing projects so just show up and lend a hand!!
FYI kids and helpers of all skill levels are welcome to participate!
Walk-ins welcome but signing up helps us commit to teacher requested projects!!
Did you know that the PTA is funding salaries for 2 part-time teachers?
Donating to Roadrunner Rally helps us meet the needs of our kiddos with Special Education and Gifted/Talented requirements. AISD does not provide the school any financial assistance for these programs, yet they are mandated programs...and our kids need this support!!
Donate to Roadrunner Rally today, to help the PTA continue to meet the needs of our school community.
Suggested donation is $150 per child, but any and all donations are appreciated!
Please donate today: roadrunnerrally.hellofund.io
9/25 - Let's meet at Chuy's for dinner!!
MARK YOUR CALENDAR! On Sept 25, we have our first Spirit Night coming up at Chuy's in Mueller...everyone come meet up!!
For every dine-in / take-out order that mentions Lee Elementary - a portion of the check is donated back to the school. Plus it'll be a fun friend hangout!
FYI: Show the attached flyer so Chuy's can note your dinner as part of this fundraiser.
9/27 Loteria Night
Fami-Lee this is the event you've been waiting all year for! Loteria Night is returning to Lee! Bring your Roadrunners for this FREE family friendly event. We'll play Loteria games, win prizes, eat some snacks and have a good time!
Loteria Night
September 27th | 5-7PM
Lee Cafeteria
We're making some minor changes to the format this year to help you have more fun! Games will be staggered with brakes in between. Multi-winner games will be decided by a tie-breaker and we're going to make sure there's plenty of seating and an abundance of Loteria cards for everyone!
Volunteer Spotlight!
Thank you April Salinas, Diana Cruz, Emili Segovia Krantz, Jilian DeLaTorre Copeland, and Jessica Hoffman!! Your dedicated commitment to making this event the best yet is evident in your frequent emails I've been cc'ed on covering every single detail! I'm glad you all like the poster because I didn't have the bandwidth for much else! :) Seriously, this group is the best.
Volunteer w/Mr. Peckham!
Fami-Lee, Please consider volunteering for one or more days to help manage morning traffic with Mr. Peckham! This is a 30 minute commitment that can be fun and easy with 2 or more people working together!
Let's bring back the fun music and happy morning atmosphere! Volunteer today!
If you have a non-Lee parent willing to volunteer like a grandparent contact communications@russellleepta.org to get them on the schedule!

Remarkable Roadrunner: Ms. Day
Swipe for more photos of the library
Fami-Lee, one of my absolute favorite volunteer jobs at Lee is to work in the Library with Ms. Day. It is truly an experience to listen to her read a story, listen to the lesson and the eager questions from students... Then there is the moment she sends them to find books and it's like a mad scramble, kids spread out and quickly locate exactly what they need. Ms. Day puts everyone at ease and manages the library with compassion, kindness, caring, and excellence. She spends countless non-school hours dedicated to our Roadrunners and the books in the library.
She models all the qualities that make a truly remarkable Roadrunner in and out of the Library.
Huge thank you to Lee Parent, Amy Leff for nominating Ms. Day! Reading her story feels so relatable. I'm sure that lots of us have had similar positive experiences with Ms. Day.

CAMPUS NEWS
Library: 1st Science Friday of the year!
Ms. Day creates opportunities for 5th grade students to enjoy extra science lectures on Fridays by a series of invited speakers. See her post here.
Library: AISD Student Device Responsible Use Policy
See Ms. Day's post on Konstella and be sure to sign the appropriate document and return it to her.
Please take a look at the appropriate link below and afterward - sign on the parent signature line of the acknowledgement form your child brought home and return it  to you child's teacher. Â
**In regards to: "I understand that damaging my district device may result in fees and disciplinary action." Our school policy is that each student gets one "accidental damage" incident. The second incicdent will result in a $50 fine. Disciplinary action would consist of denial of using the device for a certain period of time - doing paper and pencil work or accessing information in print, instead.Â
We need one for each student! Please let me know if your child does not bring home an acknowledgement by Friday.   jenny.day@austinisd.org.Â
