Huge shoutout for Bike Bus organizer Jillian Jillian Del La Torre Copeland for recruiting two special guests from Ghisallo Cycling Initiative who came out to share some tips and swag with the group!
Principal Update
Next week we have several great events scheduled for our community and students but of note, Friday November 22nd will also be Ms. Placker's last day with us! If you see her next week, please take a moment to thank her for her amazing work this semester. She stepped in and took care of our community in Principal Sileo's absence with grace and dedication. Principal Sileo will return after Fall Break!

Remarkable Roadrunner
This week we have a dual nomination recognizing some amazing members of our Lee Community who had lasting positive impact on one of our Lee Alumn who is now doing great things at Kealing.
Thank you Jillian DeLaTorre Copeland for submitting this Remarkable Roadrunner nomination! I have also had great experiences with these two music educators at Lee.
"The incredible work that these two musicians puts into the student body by both grade level programs and Lee Sings created amazing opportunities for our oldest daughter who is at Kealing Middle school. She was hand selected by the choir director for AISD’s All District choir that hosted their first performance this past weekend. It is an incredible achievement as a 6th grader and the director gave all the praise to elementary school staff who opened these doors for our singer! Thank you to Mr. Rincon and Mrs. Yankeelov for their dedication to the students and the arts! We are so grateful to have had your support along Kylie’s musical journey!"
Best of luck to Kylie on her AISD All District Choir journey! She's definitely helping to pave the way for more Roadrunners to follow in her footsteps!
Want to nominate someone in our community to showcase their good work in or out of the classroom? Fill out the Remarkable Roadrunner Nomination form. Any Lee Community member can nominate anyone else in our Lee Community!
Coats for Kids Drive: Give a Coat, Receive a Coat
Lee Elementary is participating in the Coats for Kids coat drive! There are multiple ways to donate to our Coats for Kids Coat Drive. Between now and Dec. 4, you can:
• drop off a new or lightly used coat in a collection box located in the school or cafeteria entryway
• purchase a coat from the Coats for Kids Gift Registry
• or donate online by visiting jlaustin.org/coats and clicking “DONATE.”
Note that just $20 buys a new coat!
Need a coat? For qualifying families, if you need a coat donation for one of your children (at Lee or not), there are several options:
• Check with Mr. Peckham or the Lee PTA Community Cares rep to see if there is a coat available at the school. We will give Lee Families first choice of donated coats. Additionally, we will receive coats from Coats for Kids at the end of the drive.
• Community pick up locations will be posted by December 3rd on the Coats for Kids website.
