Hispanic Heritage Month: Community Spotlight

Hispanic Heritage Month - The remaining weeks of HHM we will be introducing you to Latino/Hispanic members of your Lee Community

The Salinas Family

The Salinas family: April & Erica

Q: What do you love most about your culture?

April: Erica and I love the diversity in cuisine when it comes to traditional Mexican dishes. One of our favorite dishes to make is homemade tamales. We usually do this activity during the winter to share with our family

Q: How do you keep your cultural traditions alive?

April: A great example of keeping traditions alive is participating in honoring our ancestors during “day of the dead”.

Q: What makes you feel most connected to Lee?

April: Our family enjoys volunteering as much as we possibly can to really feel apart of the Fami-Lee. We love the support the community shows to all students and families, and we want to be part of it!
