Roadrunner Rundown | Week 36

Updated: May 17

Table of Contents

Y'all today marks 5 days of school!!!

We're under one week from the last day of school and things are still happening everyday at Lee! Color days have been going beautifully (thanks to Mr. McIntyre)! I was in the building this morning and saw lots of red (garnet) & gold honoring Ms. Borris today!

There are still opportunities to give back to Lee! Heads up we're looking for volunteers to help clean up the walls at Lee to prepare for the PTA sponsored hallway painting/beautification project that starts at the end of the month. If you're interested please let us know. We're taking volunteers every day next week.

THANK YOU! Huge thank you to every single person who has helped make this year a success but today a special thank you goes out to Selena Melancon, PTA Historian for all her work on this year's yearbook. The yearbook has been a year-long project that represents the entire Lee community and has taken countless hours photographing events, organizing photos, and managing the Treering system. I got a preview of the finished books and they are truly amazing.

Yearbook Delivery Update

from Selena Melancon, PTA Historian

A quick update that all yearbooks will be distributed on the last day of school May 23rd to students who purchased them. We are working to inventory and organize the books to distribute to teachers. If your student will not be at school on the last day and you need yours early, please send us a message and we'll do our best to pull yours while we inventory.

There is an after school yearbook signing + EOY meet-up at Central Market on the last day of school at 3:30. Hope to see you all there!

Still want to order a yearbook? If you didn't purchase a yearbook you still can! All purchases made going forward will have an additional shipping charge and be sent to home addresses only. Order here!

I want to thank everyone who submitted photos and while I was unable to use all of them they were very helpful in filling in some important moments. If you are interested in being a part of next year's Yearbook team send me an email historian@russellleepta.org

Yearbook signing + EOY Celebration

RSVP for an epic last day of school meet up / yearbook signing at Central Market on May 23rd. This will be a great opportunity for everyone to bring their yearbooks and get them signed. Exchange contact information for summer playdates and enjoy time with friends.

Central Market, 4001 N. Lamar Blvd

May 23rd - right after school

A few of us will get there early to reserve some tables but you are also encouraged to bring folding chairs and picnic blankets.

End of Year GiftCrowd

Lee PTA has set up a school-wide GiftCrowd which allows you to show your gratitude to the Lee teachers and staff by making a confidential end of year contribution online. Your participation is entirely optional but highly appreciated. CONTRIBUTE HERE.

Lee Color Days - May 13-23

Heads up COLOR DAYS are happening now!!  One of our Lee traditions is to close out the year by having the whole school dress in the same color each day.   It is, of course, not required, but it helps make the last few days fun and special.  Here is the color calendar.

Thank you to Mr. McIntyre for taking over Color Days this year!

Eastwoods Park Field trips

Lost & Found

As we get closer to the end of the school year, please stop by Lost & Found to see if you recognize anything. Weather permitting we will have the clothing rack out by the main entrance every Friday.

Sponsor a Russell Lee Photograph!

Help us bring more of Russell Lee's photographs to Lee's permanent collection by sponsoring a photograph today! As a thank you, each donor will be recognized by name beside the photo they've sponsored.

Why are we doing this? Right now we've got a great collection of Russell Lee photos on display downstairs but there are none on the 2nd floor. By sponsoring a photo you'll help ensure our schools namesake is represented throughout the school building.

Use this link to sponsor a photo today! https://russellleepta.square.site/

(note, although you might see these options on the PTA website merch page, the link here is the only one that will work)
