We are one week away from the start of our much anticipated Thanksgiving Break and find ourselves feeling especially grateful for the team members who keep our school moving forward. Our Childcare Team, under the direction of Ms. Shores has been instrumental in the successful implementation of so many of the systems that have made this a strong year. Next week we will be celebrating a team that works incredibly hard behind the scenes to help our students across all seven grade levels. Whether they are assisting Roadrunners in their work toward academic and social-emotional goals, making sure all students feel safe and cared for, or running our wonderful Backpack Buddy Program, our Teaching Assistant Team does so much behind the scenes to make Russell Lee Elementary such an amazing place. Please join us in celebrating Stephanie Ledesma, Jessica De La Cruz, Sylvia Deshaw and Kim Penson and all they mean to our school.
We would like to invite everyone to our next Caregiver Connection to discuss the Brighter and Darker side of screen time. We will meet via zoom at 8:15am Tuesday, Nov. 16th. That afternoon we will hold our monthly CAC Meeting to discuss the latest Facilities Report on our school, our new LEAF Environmental Initiative and receive and update on our community outreach efforts. We hope you will be able to join us for these collaborative events.
Lastly, we are excited to announce the return of Erica Sanchez as our school bookkeeper. Since her departure to assist with a number of important projects for the district, we have kept in close contact with Erica and she has remained very involved with our school. There will be a brief gap while she finishes her important work at the AISD Service Center and we are all very excited for her return.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Principal - Russell Lee Elementary School
