Welcome

Thanks to all of the staff for staying late and hosting parents at Back to School Night on Thursday! Its always great to see inside our kids classrooms and hear what the school year has in store.

Last weekend, the PTA kicked off our fundraising for the year at Vow Jiu Jitsu - we were able to raise $250 for our school! Thanks to everyone that attended and donated - it was a great start to the fundraising year. Keep an eye out on Konstella and here for more fundraising opportunities - our next one takes place on Tuesday at Chipotle Mueller!

Finally, if you're planning to volunteer at the school throughout the year - please fill out the AISD Volunteer background check here: https://austinisd.voly.org/. This is required yearly and covers both PTA and classroom volunteering (e.g. library, class parties, field trips, etc.).

  • BYOT (bring your own tool) - gloves, rakes, wheelbarrows, buckets and sleds

Fall Club Update

Vendor clubs will start next week! There are still a few spots left — grab them before they’re gone!

Library Lines

By our amazing Librarian, Ms. Day

Library time has been a whirlwind of  checking out Chromebooks and normal books.

Please help you child remember to return their library books in a timely manner.

Every student comes to the library every week. So, they should bring their books every week to return or recheck.

Please take a look at the Student Responsible Use policy with your child - I went over it with them, but repetition from home and the classroom teacher will help.

Also, if you are interested in volunteering in the library during your child's library class, please feel free to email me (jenny.day@austinisd.org). For those of you new to the system, please come in a little early and I'll go over things with you.

Our 4th - 6th graders will have the opportunity to visit with Author, Brandon Mull, of the Fablehaven series.  He will meet with us on Sept 8 at 11:20.  Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to do a schoolwide book order but you can order his books and bring them in on Sept 8 for him to autograph.  He will also be at the Barnes and Noble (Sunset Valley) that evening for an event signing. See Brandon Mull's Shadow Mountain titles can be found here: https://shdwmtn.com/mull

Finally, our Summer Break Readers will celebrate with a Popsicle party in the library on Monday, September 8.  CONGRATULATIONS  to our Summer Readers!!

Loteria Night

Friday, September 26 from 5-7

Grab the family, shout ¡Lotería! loud and proud, and get ready for an evening of fun, treats, and surprises. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re bringing the cards, the prizes, and the snacks—just bring your game face!

Loteria Night is one of our PTA's free, community building events - your generous donations go to fund free events like Loteria throughout the year.

Interested in volunteering? We need help with setup, serving F&B, and post event clean up. Sign up on Konstella here.

The LASA Dance team is hosting 3 dance junior dance clinics throughout the year for students aged Kindergarten-11th Grade. These full or half day dance camps feature warm-up, technique, arts & crafts (K-5), and team building. Two out of the three clinics also have invitations to perform with LASA dance teams - Velocity (Varsity) and Dynasty (JV).
