Welcome

Starting off with a huge THANK YOU to all of the teachers and staff who stayed late Thursday night for Back to School! Keep an eye out for a Konstella message from your student's teacher on the slides that were presented.

Reminder there is no school on Monday, Sept 7 for Labor Day. Enjoy the long weekend.

Our Fall 2026 after-school enrichment clubs begin next week, starting September 8, with Monday clubs starting September 14.

There are still spots available in:

  • Wicked Workshop: Tuesday, K–5 - starts September 8

  • AYF Biking Club: Tuesday, K–5 - starts September 8

  • Spanish Club - Beginner:  Wednesday, K–2 - starts September 9

  • Zapp Sports Multi-Sport: Thursday, K–5 - starts September 10

  • Spanish Club - Advanced:  Thursday, 3rd–5th - starts September 10

  • Think Forward Hands-On STEM Club: Friday, 3rd–5th - starts September 11

  • Creative Action Drama Club: Monday, 2nd–5th - starts September 14

  • Fantastic Magic Camp: Monday, K–5 - starts September 14

A few of these clubs are still building enrollment, so if your student has been thinking about joining something this fall, now is a good time to take another look.

Loteria Night is our annual celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month - we're bringing the cards, the prizes, and the snacks - just bring your game face! Save the date for Friday, September 25, 2026, from 5pm - 7pm for this free, PTA sponsored event.

It's Time to Rally for Our Roadrunners

Help us reach our goal by Sept 25!

We’re 2 days into our biggest fall fundraiser, Roadrunner Rally! We’re hoping to raise $50,000 by Friday, September 25th. To help get us there, we’re asking for a suggested donation of $150 per student, but no amount is too small or too large – every dollar counts!

This money helps us keep our essential areas teachers full time, supports field trips, club scholarships, community events, campus improvements, professional development for our beloved teachers, and so much more.

Let’s start strong! Please DONATE TODAY.

And don't forget to check if your employer participates in a Corporate Matching program - this can double your contribution to Lee at no extra cost!

Nando's Receipt Share

Join us on 9/10 and 40% goes back to Lee

We hope to see everyone next week for the first receipt share of the year - grab dinner from Nando's on Thursday, 9/10 from 4 - 9 pm and 40% of proceeds from your meal will go to Lee PTA!

Receipt shares are a great way to see friends outside of school, so tell all your non-Lee friends, grandparents, neighbors, and UPS drivers that they don’t need to cook on Sept 10 and to use code NANDOS2026!

Date/Time: September 10, 2026, 4-9PM

Location: Nando's Mueller, 1825 McBee Street, Austin TX 78723

Instructions: Enter Code NANDOS2026 when ordering online or in store, the school will receive 40% of proceeds!!

Advocacy Update

by our Advocacy Chair, Amanda Rohlich

Hello, all!  Amanda Rohlich here, parent to a first grader, and serving as your Advocacy Chair this year.  Have suggestions, requests, or ideas?  Please feel free to email me at advocacy@russellleepta.org.

Check out this handy Back to School Advocacy Update from our friends at Austin Council of PTAs (ACPTA) where you’ll find information on funding, budget deficits, vouchers, school closures, curriculum changes, TEA takeovers, and more about what you can do to get involved.

You can also read ACPTA's recap of AISD's Board meeting here.

Speaking of getting involved–check out joinkasi.org for information on keeping Austin

schools independent and consider signing up for their first Block Walk for Public Schools on Sunday, September 13th!

Don’t forget that October 5 is the deadline to register to vote in the VERY IMPORTANT November elections.  To confirm your voter registration status, you can visit the Texas Secretary of State’s Am I Registered?’ portal, which allows you to look up your voter registration record in the statewide voter registration database.

Lost and Found

Lost and Found is located inside the school so students can access it easily; parents must check in at the front office. Items may be donated within 2 weeks if Lost and Found is full. Email lostandfound@russellleepta.org if you have any questions.

Thank you to our Corporate Sponsors!
