PTA Meeting Recap
Thank you to those who joined us in person and virtually for our last PTA meeting of the semester. A huge thanks to Mr. Rincon for helping setup the audio for the virtual attendees. A few highlights from the meeting are recapped below. Thanks to Jo's for donating coffee to our meeting!
The meeting was kicked off with a guest presentation by Creative Action - a local Austin non-profit - who shared about their school based programs and gave a live demonstration of their Kindergarten program.
Ms. Sileo presented on a facilities update and shared some preliminary information on 2025-26 enrollment.
Fencing Project - Lee will be getting a new perimeter fence in the spring. The Library and garden are will gated as part of this plan. Adjustments to dismissal and access to the school after hours will be discussed in the spring.
The Outdoor Learning Pavilion has been assigned an AISD Project Manager.
2026-27 Enrollment - as part of the approved consolidation plan, Lee will not have 6th grade starting in 26-27. A Principal's Coffee Jan. 9 will focus on middle school transition planning for families. Feeder patters for Lee did not change for the 26-27 school year - you can view feeder patterns here.
Lee is still considered overenrolled - even with 6th grade no longer being at our campus - so there are no plans add Pre K 4 to our campus.
26 - 27 registration dates can be found here. You are asked to enroll early to help with planning.
Lee's Summer Camp is coming back for 2026! A catalogue will be shared after winter break to help with planning - with registration later in the year. The camps will take place at Lee the first two weeks of summer break - with options for before and aftercare.
Financial reports were shared by Treasurer Alisa Viedma, who reviewed the budget to date and shared amendments to based on adjusted costs incurred/anticipated this year. Wyeth Slagel from the Financial Reconciliation Committee shared the results of the financial reconciliation for 24-25 school year. All finances were found in order.
We're looking for a Geography Day chair! Geography Day is a full day spotlighting a country that is especially meaningful to our school community or to the wider world, giving students a chance to explore global cultures in a hands-on and engaging way. If you're interested in leading the charge - please reach out to vicepresident@russellleepta.org.
Save the Date for Lee Live - Friday March 27th @ Austin Public Library.
The Lee Live committee is now accepting donations for the silent auction - email leelive@russellleepta.org if you have something to contribute!
