School Consolidation Draft Released

AISD released its draft proposal for school consolidations and boundary changes last Friday. You can see the full details of the proposal here.

Under the proposed draft:

  • No boundary changes for Lee.

  • Current transfer students will be grandfathered in through the final grade level on campus. Siblings who are not currently enrolled will not be automatically grandfathered to a particular campus in future years.

  • Lee's feeder pattern has changed - the proposed plan has students zoned for O. Henry Middle School and Austin High.

  • 6th grade at Lee would likely be impacted after the 26-27 school year - the proposal states:

"While we are not proposing a boundary change for Lee ES, the number of PK-5th grade students living in Lee ES’s current boundary aligns with the size of the building. However, since they are managing this currently, we can continue to offer 6th grade at Lee ES for the 2026-2027 school year but will work with school leadership to determine a timeline for phasing out 6th grade."

You can share comments on this proposed draft with AISD here.

There is an AISD Board Information Session tonight - you can view that meeting here.

Currently the board is set to vote on this plan on November 20.

You can also join virtual Q&A sessions hosted by AISD on the proposed plan here starting next week.

  • October 14, 2025, 6 - 7:30 pm
